Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee a major refurbishment project in Bristol on a hybrid schedule (3 days on site).

The role focuses on commercial leadership, cost control and forecasting for a £16m retrofit and refurbishment contract in social housing. Ideal candidates will have NEC4 experience, strong Excel skills, and a track record in social housing refurbishment; a full UK driving licence is preferred.

• Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• NEC4 knowledge is advantageous.
• Experience in social housing refurbishment or construction.
• Strong commercial and financial management capabilities.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: 60,000- 75,000 + benefits Permanent Hybrid - 3 days on site

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Projects division in Bristol, supporting a newly secured 16m retrofit and refurbishment contract.

The project covers four high-rise residential buildings, including cladding renewals, scaffolding, mass climbers and associated refurbishment works.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to take commercial ownership of a major social housing project, working within a small, experienced and supportive commercial team. Established Quantity Surveyors ready to step up are also encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead commercial management, cost control, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Maximise contractual entitlement, cash flow and profitability.
• Manage subcontractor orders, valuations and client queries.
• Identify commercial risks, manage disputes and advise on contractual matters.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in social housing refurbishment or construction.
• Strong commercial, contractual and financial management skills.

• Relevant industry qualification and a full UK driving licence.

Salary and benefits:

• 60,000- 75,000 salary, depending on experience.
