Job summary

GVR Solutions Ltd in London is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial delivery of a £16m refurbishment project in Central London. The role reports to a Managing Surveyor and supports a Junior QS, with responsibility from procurement through final account.

You will manage subcontract packages, CVRs, cost reporting and client liaison, ensuring robust cash flow and effective risk handling on site.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or equivalent in Construction.
• Experience with a main contractor on refurbishment or fit-out projects.
• Comfortable on projects up to £20m.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Experience in procurement, buying and account management.
• Client facing and able to manage client relationships.
• Proficient in CVRs, forecasting, cost reporting and commercial risk management.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day commercial ownership from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare subcontract enquiry packages, tender comparisons and buying analyses; procure and negotiate subcontract packages.
• Prepare and agree subcontract orders and manage applications, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare and submit monthly client applications / valuations and manage client variations and change control.
• Attend and contribute to client, consultant and commercial meetings; maintain a strong relationship with the client QS.
• Maintain project CVRs, forecasts, cost-to-complete information, cash flow, WIP and commercial records.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, including contractual notices, EOT and loss and expense where required.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to protect commercial performance.

GVR Solutions are currently representing a very well-established main contractor, who are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The initial focus will be on a £16m refurbishment project in Central London which will be approx. 70 weeks.

Senior Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:

• Reporting to a Managing Surveyor and will be supported by a Junior Quantity Surveyor
