You will manage commercial and contractual aspects of interior fit-out projects, oversee budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts, and lead subcontractor procurement to ensure project profitability.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step into a senior-level position(or for an already established Senior) for a highly regarded specialist fit-out contractor operating across London and the surrounding areas.

With a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality interior fit-out projects, the business has been involved in numerous prestigious and iconic developments throughout London and the UK.

Specialising predominantly in CAT A commercial fit-out, alongside selected CAT B projects, the company delivers bespoke interior solutions, supported by extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities and a well-established operational team.

Following an internal review of the commercial team's structure and future requirements, the business is looking to strengthen its commercial department with an experienced Quantity Surveyor who can bring strong commercial knowledge, confidence and the ambition to develop into a senior-level position.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of interior fit-out projects from inception through to final account.
• Oversee project budgets, cost reporting, forecasting and financial performance.
• Prepare and manage valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, negotiations and subcontractor accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks, ensuring projects remain financially viable.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider commercial team to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor project progress, costs and contractual obligations throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Support the continued development and improvement of commercial processes within the business.

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Background in either main contracting or subcontracting, with strong transferable commercial skills.
• Experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or specialist interior packages would be advantageous, although not essential.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, cost management and commercial reporting.
• Confident managing commercial responsibilities independently and working closely with operational teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• Ambition to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor position, or already operating at this level.
• Comfortable travelling to projects across London and the surrounding areas.

Location & Working Arrangements

The role will be based between the company's South West London Office and London-based projects, with approximately three days per week required on site.

Projects will typically be located within a 20-25-mile radius of Central London, so candidates should be comfortable travelling across London, with journeys of up to approximately 90 minutes considered reasonable.

Salary & Career Development

The business is targeting a salary in the region of £70,000 - £80,000, dependent on experience and suitability.
