Job summary

Primis is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager for AV installation projects. You will manage contracts from award to final account, review terms, and ensure compliance with JCT, FIDIC, and bespoke client contracts.

You will oversee procurement, value work on site, and prepare cost reports, cash flows, and invoices, with opportunities to expand into Ireland and Europe.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field.
• Working knowledge of JCT and FIDIC contracts, ideally within AV, construction or technology integration.
• Experience managing budgets, cost reports and forecasting for technical or project based work.
• Skilled in negotiating with clients and subcontractors to protect commercial outcomes.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills, comfortable working under pressure.
• RICS chartered or working towards chartership, with 5+ years post-qualification experience desirable.
• An additional European language is a bonus, as is experience resolving payment or final account disputes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuations, progress applications, invoices, monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Identify, track and negotiate variations and compensation events to protect commercial performance.
• Act as main commercial contact for internal teams, clients and subcontractors, with scope to grow into Ireland and Europe.

The role:

• Conduct contract reviews upon project award, making sure the project team understands the commercial and contractual requirements
• Interpret and apply JCT, FIDIC and bespoke client contracts throughout project delivery
• Review procurement and subcontractor packages, assessing and authorising subcontractor payments against completed work
• Measure and value work completed on site, including installations, equipment deliveries and commissioning milestones
• Prepare valuations, progress applications, invoices, monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts
• Identify, track and negotiate variations and compensation events to protect commercial performance
• Act as the main commercial point of contact for internal teams, clients and subcontractors, with scope to grow as the function expands into Ireland and Europe
