Job summary

Network Plus group in Exeter is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to drive efficiencies and manage costs and regional performance for our client South West Water. You will take control of all financial aspects of the project, overseeing commercial and contractual matters to deliver margin through strong commercial acumen.

You will identify risks and opportunities, track changes, manage subcontractor relations and contribute to on-site risk reviews and commercial meetings with the client.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
• NEC4 experience preferable
• Ideally you will have experience working in the Utilities industry
• Previous experience in capital works within Utilities would be desirable
• Sound knowledge of contracts - NEC preferred
• Ability to prioritise workload, multi-task and work under tight time pressures
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage the contract performance including weekly P&L reporting
• Review contract documents and mitigate any issues
• Control the progress and cash flow forecast information
• Manage commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs) and Project Finance Reports
• Take responsibility for Subcontractor Management; including Subcontract Forecasting, raising Subcontractor Orders and Negotiating Subcontract terms
• Prepare subcontract documents, enquiries and assessment of quotations
• Oversee subcontract orders, agreement and certification of subcontract valuations, invoice, subcontract payments and final account agreements
• Be responsible for the management of the change control process, risk and value management
• Manage and track project changes, variations and/or notices
• Assess and value variations and compensation events
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications to clients, along with the agreement of final accounts
• Attend risk review, progress and commercial meetings on-site with the Client
• Be actively involved with tenders and pricing
• Oversee Credit Control with cash recovery and forecasting
• Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual aspects

Education

Degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent)
