Senior Quantity Surveyor - Residential Groundworks
Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team in the civil engineering industry. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play an integral role in managing all aspects of project costs from initiation through to completion. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing tender documents, and assessing contracts. Utilizing your expertise, you will analyze financial outcomes and ensure that projects are completed within budget, while maintaining quality and efficiency. Your role will involve close collaboration with Project Managers, Engineers and Contractors to provide sound advice on procurement strategies and cost‑effective solutions. You will conduct risk assessments and prepare reports, offering insights to stakeholders to assist in decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and contracts
  • Evaluate contractor quotes and proposals to ensure best value
  • Monitor project budgets and provide financial reporting to stakeholders
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and costs
  • Advise on procurement strategies and cost control measures
  • Engage with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure project alignment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential groundworks sector
  • Strong knowledge of subcontracting, construction methods and regulations
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and project management tools

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
