Unite People is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of HV/LV electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. The role carries real ownership of financial performance from tender handover through final account and reports to senior management.

You'll apply NEC3/NEC4 contract knowledge, manage cost reporting, and coordinate with clients, DNOs/ICPs and the delivery team. A clear route to Commercial Manager awaits the right person.

Formación

• Must have experience in HV/LV power projects.
• Strong NEC contract knowledge and practical application.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar; MRICS desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the commercial management of HV/LV projects from tender handover through to final account.
• Prepare and manage cost reports, CVRs, forecasts and cash flow, and report monthly to senior management.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and applications for payment.
• Procure and manage specialist subcontractors and suppliers, covering cable installation, civils, jointing, and plant and equipment.
• Value variations and protect the business's commercial position on change and risk.
• Build strong relationships with clients, DNOs/ICPs and the delivery team.
• Mentor and develop junior QS staff.

Unite People is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a well-established Tier 1 contractor delivering HV/LV electrical infrastructure across the UK. The pipeline includes substations, grid connections, renewables and BESS schemes, and network reinforcement under long-term frameworks. This is a senior commercial role with real ownership of projects, and there is a clear route to Commercial Manager for the right person.

The role

• Lead the commercial management of HV/LV projects from tender handover through to final account.
• Prepare and manage cost reports, CVRs, forecasts and cash flow, and report monthly to senior management.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including compensation events, early warnings and applications for payment.
• Procure and manage specialist subcontractors and suppliers, covering cable installation, civils, jointing, and plant and equipment.
• Value variations and protect the business's commercial position on change and risk.
• Build strong relationships with clients, DNOs/ICPs and the delivery team.
• Mentor and develop junior QS staff.

About you

• Proven QS experience at senior level in HV/LV, power distribution, substations or wider electrical infrastructure.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts. JCT experience is also useful.
• Experience on utility, DNO, National Grid or renewables frameworks is a real advantage.
• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying or similar. MRICS, or working towards it, is desirable.
• Commercially sharp and confident dealing with clients and subcontractors.
• Full UK driving licence.
