Wates is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Residential team in Cardiff, focusing on delivering new affordable homes to local communities.

About Wates Residential

Wates Residential is a developer contractor involved in investing, developing, building, and selling quality affordable housing through contracting or partnerships with Local Authorities, Registered Providers, and public bodies.

About the Role

The Project Surveyor will lead project teams, overseeing all pre- and post-contract strategies, commercial functions, and contract reporting. The role involves working collaboratively with clients and industry specialists to ensure added value, compliance, and commercial viability.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial team to meet contract obligations, including procurement, sub-contract management, supply chain management, measurements, valuations, contractual notices, and change management.
• Prepare and submit monthly cost reports, procurement updates, and progress reports, and develop tender and delivery strategies.
• Agree on valuations to maintain positive cash flow and finalize main and subcontractor accounts.
• Experience in high-rise residential buildings and knowledge of the Building Safety Act are required.
