Specialist Recruitment Supply Chain Consultant at Aurum

We’re looking for an Experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and lead high-impact projects across the South West.

At Aurum, we work on technically demanding projects — ranging from new builds and refurbishments to fit-outs and groundworks. Our focus is on delivering quality, efficiency, and trusted partnerships with long-standing clients.

In this role, you’ll be the commercial lead, managing key projects and stakeholders, ensuring high standards of quality, and driving value across the board. Your work will include estimating, tendering, managing budgets, tracking costs, and overseeing contract administration. You’ll also play a central role in supporting junior QS staff and ensuring smooth project delivery, all while maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultants. The variety and autonomy in this role will allow you to shape best practices and influence key decisions within our team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading commercial management of key projects across a diverse range of sectors.
  • Estimating, tendering, managing budgets, and tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Providing support and mentoring to junior QS staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and project success.
  • Taking ownership of cost reporting and project financials, ensuring they align with client expectations and project goals.
  • Ensuring the delivery of projects in line with company standards and best practices.

What you'll need:

  • Significant experience managing projects up to £5m, with a proven track record in Quantity Surveying.
  • Expertise in managing JCT and NEC contracts and a solid understanding of commercial project delivery.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying (or a related field) and membership with RICS or CIOB.
  • Hands-on experience with project budgets, procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and commercial software tools.
  • A proactive and solutions-driven approach, with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience in frameworks, term contracts, or reactive maintenance projects will be an advantage.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead from the front — shaping best practices, owning commercial outcomes, and working across a dynamic project portfolio. You’ll be part of a growing team that values collaboration and accountability. We pride ourselves on delivering quality and trust — and we back our people to do things the right way.

We’re proud of what we do, and even prouder of how we do it — with honesty, drive, and real teamwork. If this role resonates with you, we’d like to hear from you.
