Job description

We have an exciting opportunity to strengthen our client's Commercial team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Bristol, with hybrid working available.

The ideal candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be responsible for the Commercial Management of Projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Quantity surveying duties related to managing projects and work packages.
2. Liaising with design, construction, and supply chain teams to capture, analyze, and control costs.
3. Collaborating with the client to ensure business requirements are met.
4. Managing the main contract, ensuring contractual notices and correspondence are identified and raised as necessary.
5. Preparing and issuing subcontract documentation.
6. Assisting in the management and performance of subcontractors.
7. Managing the preparation and agreement of applications for payment.
8. Preparing project cost & value reports, budgets, and forecasts.
9. Assisting in the management and development of junior commercial staff.
10. Ensuring continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, associations, and groups to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
11. Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach, providing open and honest feedback.
12. Undertaking other duties, training, or hours of work as reasonably required, consistent with the role's responsibilities.
13. Taking all reasonable steps to ensure confidentiality.

Essential requirements:

• A degree or equivalent qualification.
• Working towards or possessing chartered membership of a recognized institution.
• Experience in utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA sectors.
• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience in managing and developing individuals or small teams.
