Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Cardiff or Bristol. In this role, you will implement best commercial practices to maximize the profitability and financial performance of medium to large projects.

This is a permanent position with NG Bailey. We are seeking someone with strong commercial experience to work on projects in the SW region.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Promote a safety-first culture across all project activities.
2. Manage and coach Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors where relevant.
3. Review and interpret contract terms, identify risks, and explore opportunities.
4. Ensure contract compliance and liaise with project teams on project status.
5. Manage change processes related to contractual obligations.
6. Oversee cash flow forecasting and manage payments.
7. Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Assist in procurement and management of subcontractors.
9. Provide accurate reports on costs, projections, liabilities, and margins.
10. Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
11. Negotiate final account settlements and facilitate sign-offs.
12. Maintain all necessary project records and reports.
13. Assist in dispute resolution processes.

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP or main build projects.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• BSc/degree or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
