The role – what is it we would like you to do?

We are seeking a senior chartered quantity surveyor for our Brisbane office to work on diverse public and private sector projects. The successful candidate will support project leaders in delivering high-quality service, achieving successful client outcomes, sharing knowledge across projects, fostering innovation, and strengthening our reputation as a preferred service provider. We are committed to career development and expect the candidate to progress rapidly to senior levels, managing their own projects.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Pre-Contract Stage: Assist in establishing client requirements, conduct feasibility studies, prepare design proposals, advise on procurement strategies, prepare tender documents, evaluate tenders, and coordinate procurement activities.
  2. Post-Contract Stage: Prepare interim payment certificates, monitor project costs, assess variations, manage project financials, attend site and client meetings, and settle final accounts.
  3. Additional duties: Lead team objectives, work proactively, and collaborate effectively.
Requirements:
  • Degree in quantity surveying, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience in a global construction consultancy, with exposure to multiple projects; experience on contractor or developer side is also valued.
  • Strong technical skills in tendering, estimating, cost planning, measurement, construction technology, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of professional practice and contract administration.
  • Passion for quantity surveying and career growth.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Proficiency with construction software (e.g., BIM, CostX) is advantageous.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and sound decision-making ability.
