Your new company

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor currently seeking a new permanent position? I am delighted to support our client, based in the commercial main contracting sector, in recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the West Midlands region, including several sites in Birmingham.

Your new role

1. Manage the commercial resources of the assigned project (or section) to maximize planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts.
2. Assess, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks; implement group policies for risk management.
3. Support the compilation, authorization, and submission of project variations.
4. Compile and place subcontracts, material, and plant orders.
5. Maximize cash flow through control, measurement (including quality), valuation of work, invoicing customers, and paying suppliers.

What you'll need to succeed

• Excellent communication skills with experience liaising with multidisciplinary teams, client teams, sub-contractors, and the wider supply chain.
• Relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable).
• Experience in a similar role.
• Literate and numerate.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work to deadlines.
• Willingness to undertake training and development when appropriate.
• Flexibility, teamwork, and initiative.
• Proficiency in IT packages, including Microsoft Office and bespoke software.
