Job summary

Aureos Energy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial Team, delivering profitable commercial results and supporting project delivery across national infrastructure schemes.

You will provide commercial reporting, cost control, and guidance on subcontracting, change control, and risk management while working with clients and the project team to maximise value and performance.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification.
  • Substantial post degree experience working in contracting commercial department.
  • Working knowledge of construction industry conditions of contract.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes.
  • Management of application and credit control processes.
  • Management of optimisation of income.
  • Management of all processes with regard to costing and forecasting.
  • Management of change control system.
  • Input into the management of project risk.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Working within Aureos Energy, and forming a part of the Commercial team, the Senior Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results.

Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.

Aureos work collaboratively with our customers to deliver critical national infrastructure projects across the UK’s rail network.

With sustainable growth in mind, our Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assisting the commercial team in completing and maintaining well organised records, contribution to the timely production of applications for payment and accurate project reporting.

Primary tasks and duties
  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes.
  • Management of application and credit control processes
  • Management of optimisation of income
  • Management of all processes with regard to costing and forecasting
  • Management of change control system
  • Input into the management of project risk
  • Management of CTC and CVRs
  • Management of the full sub-contract cycle
  • Provision of commercial advice to Project Team
  • Development of team spirit and trustworthiness within Project Commercial Team and with Client and S/C
  • Management of dispute resolution
  • Communications within the Project Commercial Team and with the Project Team
  • Management of Training plans
  • Input into the tendering process
Secondary tasks and duties

  • The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the following in this respect:
  • Ensure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
  • Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s
  • Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base
  • Assisting with the use of key lean tools to drive efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Encourage, support and assist with the delivery of successful collaborative planning with the contract delivery teams
  • Commitment to their own professional development, and that of others across the Business Unit
  • Other tasks appropriate to the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Senior Senior Quantity Surveyor/Managing Surveyor
