Job summary

Aureos is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major highways project on site in Howden. The role is a 6-month contract reporting to the Commercial Manager and requires active management of commercial processes across the scheme.

You will handle cost control, forecasting, change management, risk input and subcontract administration, while developing the team and training an Assistant QS. Expect 1–2 nights away weekly and travel to renewables projects around the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• Post-degree experience in contracting commercial department.
• Working knowledge of construction industry conditions of contract.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage application and credit control processes.
• Manage optimisation of income.
• Costing and forecasting management.
• Management of change control system.
• Input into project risk management.
• Management of CTC and CVRs.
• Management of the full subcontract cycle.
• Provide commercial advice to Project Team.
• Development of team spirit and trust within Project Commercial Team and with Client and S/C.
• Management of dispute resolution.
• Communications within the Project Commercial Team and with the Project Team.
• Management of Training plans – Input into the tendering process.
• Training an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Working away from home 1 – 2 nights per week.
• Travel to multiple Renewables projects around the UK.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will assist the commercial team in providing support to the contract delivery team to ensure the profitability, cash management, cost control and accurate reporting of all schemes. Your role will require you to:

About You
