Job summary

Aureos Capital is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team within the Highways Business Unit. The role focuses on delivering strong commercial results through project delivery, reporting, and cost control.

You will contribute to income forecasting, change control, and sub-contract management while gaining exposure to diverse projects and professional growth opportunities within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification (preferred).
  • Knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Input into income forecast and pricing of scope changes.
  • Understand change control system and project risk.
  • Assist with cost-to-complete and budget reviews with delivery teams.
  • Manage sub-contract cycle input and sub-contract documentation.
  • Produce monthly financial performance reports and CVRs.
  • Attend progress meetings and upload necessary project documentation.

Aureos are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work in Dungeness to form part of the Commercial team.

Working within Aureos Highways Business Unit, and forming a part of the Commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor plays an integral part in delivering exceptional commercial results. Core responsibilities encompass project delivery, commercial reporting and maximising profit.

With sustainable growth in mind, our Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assisting the commercial team in completing and maintaining well organised records, contribution to the timely production of applications for payment and accurate project reporting.

Primary Tasks And Duties
  • Input into the application and credit control processes
  • Understanding of income forecast and pricing of scope changes
  • Understanding of the change control system
  • Understanding of project risk
  • Understanding of the production of CVRs
  • Understanding of CTCUnderstanding of the production of forecasting data
  • Understanding of the costing process
  • Understanding the management of the full sub-contract cycle and input into sub-contract documentation
  • Assisting with weekly cost to complete/budget reviews with the contract delivery teams.
  • Upload documentation as and when necessary, in line with business requirements
  • Review weekly site records including allocation sheets and site diaries.
  • Attend project progress meetings.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial performance reports
  • Gain experience outside of the commercial function to better understand the role of the business and the quantity surveyor within the business.
Secondary tasks and duties
  • Ensure that the group commercial policies are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
  • Manage commercial performance against business targets and KPI’s
  • Working with the commercial and operational teams to strive for continuous improvement
  • Promote a culture of integration, continuous improvement and use of best practice across the client base
  • Assisting with the use of key lean tools to drive efficiencies and reduce waste
  • Encourage, support and assist with the delivery of successful collaborative planning with the contract delivery teams
  • Commitment to their own professional development, and that of others across the Business Unit
  • Other tasks appropriate to the role of Quantity Surveyor, as identified by the Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager.

Essential:
Qualifications and Training
  • Degree educated or HND/HNC equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification (preferred)
  • Suitable post degree experience working in contracting commercial department preferably within the power industry
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret construction industry conditions of contract, mainly NEC3 and NEC4
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel)
