Job summary

PSR Solutions are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team in the Cumbria region on a permanent basis. The role will focus on cost reporting, forecasting, and management of NEC3/NEC4 contracts on complex civil engineering projects.

The candidate should hold a BSc in Quantity Surveying, have NEC3/4 experience, strong cost analysis skills and a valid driving licence. An attractive package includes a company car or car allowance.

Qualifications

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial related course.
• NEC3 & 4 experience essential.
• Experience on complex/high value projects or managing multiple projects.
• Water/civils industry experience advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrable monthly forecasting and cost analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate cost and value reporting at project and business unit levels.
• Conduct cost management and project forecasting.
• Draft and update monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans.
• Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial accounting.
• Oversee contracts and subcontracts, mainly IChemE and NEC forms.
• Interrogate and challenge cost data and records.
• Mitigate commercial risk and identify opportunities.
• Forecast expenditure and cash recovery with project teams.

PSR Solutions are working with an established client within the Civil Engineering Sector to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to Join their Commercial team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in the Cumbria Region.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Roles and Responsibilities

• Provision of accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels to inform Group reporting
• Cost management and project forecasting
• Drafting and updating a monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans
• Responsibility for subcontract procurement, negotiation and financial accounting
• Effectively manage contract and subcontract agreements, primarily IChemE and NEC forms
• Ability to interrogate and challenge records, reports and cost data
• Mitigate commercial risk, identify and realise commercial opportunities
• Work with the wider project team to forecast predicted expenditure and cash recovery to ensure that both are in line with business unit expectation

Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements

• BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar commercial related course
• NEC3 & 4 experience essential
• Experience on more complex/higher value projects and/or managing a portfolio of projects concurrently
• Experience in water/civils industry again advantageous but not essential
• Demonstrable experience in monthly forecasting and cost analysis
• Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
• Valid driving licence
