Kenton Black is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Aberdeen on a permanent basis. The client is a market-leading main contractor with a portfolio of commercial new builds, up to £20m.

In your new role as Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial functions across commercial new build projects within the Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire area.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with the architect and/or the client.
  2. Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  3. Perform risk, value management, and cost control.
  4. Advise on procurement strategy.
  5. Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks.
  6. Provide advice on contractual claims.
  7. Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
  8. Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing commercial functions on new build/refurbishment construction projects (£8m+).
  • Ideally, reside within the Aberdeen area and have recent experience in a similar role with a main contractor.
