Job summary
Big Red Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer for a fully remote role in the United Kingdom. You will coach developers to own quality, build the test framework, and sign off releases, driving shift-left and modern quality practices across several engineering teams.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on test automation experience with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress, plus a coding background and strong communication to influence developers.
Qualifications
- Experience coaching teams on shift-left in software development.
- Hands-on test automation using Playwright, Selenium or Cypress.
- Practical experience using AI tools to speed testing.
- Excellent communication with developers to influence quality.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Coach developers through stories, agreeing where tests are needed.
- Help embed shift-left and modern quality practices across several teams.
- Build and maintain the test framework, and work with DevOps on fast pipeline feedback.
- Review Playwright tests written by developers and check they assert the right things.
- Bring releases together, sign them off and investigate defects.
- Identify where AI can speed up testing and implement it in the QE team.
