Semble in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior SDET to lead the evolution of our test automation and promote quality as a shared engineering discipline. You will design safe agent workflows and establish a robust Playwright framework with CI integration, enabling reliable releases.

You will mentor engineers, expand coverage across unit, API and integration tests, and explore AI-assisted testing and non‑functional testing.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of professional experience as SDET or Test Automation Engineer
• Strong track record designing, building, and evolving automation frameworks that are reliable and maintainable
• Hands-on experience building AI-augmented or agentic quality workflows
• Pragmatic AI adoption with awareness of data privacy, security, clinical safety, cost and false-positives risks
• Strong TypeScript-based automation experience; Playwright desirable
• Experience with test coverage strategy and applying the testing pyramid to reduce unnecessary E2E testing
• Experience with unit, component, API and integration tests
• Exposure to DevOps tools and cloud infrastructure (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Datadog, AWS)
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to represent the SDET function in release discussions

Aufgaben

• Lead evolution of Semble’s test automation capability
• Design safe agent workflows with clear responsibilities and human review
• Establish a stable Playwright framework and CI integration
• Set up quality gates in CI and PR workflows
• Rationalise the E2E suite across unit, API and integration levels
• Build a cross‑layer coverage map and risk‑based defect view
• Expand test coverage including AI-assisted testing
• Conduct non-functional testing proofs of concept (performance, accessibility, security)
• Contribute to company-wide quality strategy and metrics
• Coach engineers on test design and the testing pyramid
