Justice Digital, Data and Science in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to drive quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. You will join multidisciplinary teams to engineer quality first and fast, with hands-on automation and strong collaboration across product, delivery, and architecture.

You will lead quality practices, develop risk-based strategies, and mentor colleagues while delivering reliable, secure, and maintainable services.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing testing across multiple teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing automated tests and test frameworks.
• Ability to design, implement and optimise automated UI and API test frameworks.
• Experience integrating testing within CI/CD pipelines and source control.
• Proven ability to apply risk-based and exploratory testing approaches.
• Consider accessibility, security, performance, resilience and maintainability in testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with evidence-based risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to engineer quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Provide coaching, guidance and practical support while hands-on where value adds.
• Deliver technical and strategic leadership for multiple product teams.
• Develop risk-based quality strategies and identify dependencies.
• Design, develop and maintain automated tests and quality checks; conduct exploratory testing.
• Advance automation initiatives and standardise testing solutions.
• Apply testing practices across API, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Improve testability and observability; promote shared ownership of quality.
• Contribute to quality across functional and non-functional areas including security and performance.
• Work with the Lead Quality Engineer to improve quality standards and practices.
• Use testing evidence to inform decisions; implement shift-left testing.
