Qualifications

JOB TITLE: Senior Quality Engineer

SALARY: £74,000 - £80,000

LOCATION(S): Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the above locations

This will help us create new, and improve existing, products and services to help us really make a difference to our customers.

As Senior Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You'll aim to deliver exciting customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by coaching the team to embed quality engineering in every phase of the software delivery lifecycle.

You'll build the team strategy for making the most effective use of test automation for functional and non-functional testing. . You'll balance hands on automation expertise with coaching and building up Quality Engineering standards.

What you'll need

We like people who come from a variety of backgrounds and having a diverse team. To be considered for the role as a minimum we would need to see the following in this rough order of priority:

  • Software Testing: drives advanced software testing techniques using experience to apply test approaches such as risk based testing where appropriate and communicate the approach used clearly so that stakeholders understand any risk associated with the test approach used
  • A passion to lead quality engineering and automation test strategy with focus on Playwright tooling for functional test automation, developing robust automation suites in Typescript using the defined LBG automation framework
  • Extensive experience within a modern quality engineering role, with a good knowledge of the full development lifecycle and mentoring junior members of staff
  • Experience working within collaborative Agile feature teams and reporting to management as required, mainly using Jira tool
  • Proficiency in 1 or 2 coding languages, preferably including JavaScript/Typescript
  • Experience in creating test frameworks in a DevOps environment
  • Experience of both functional and non-functional testing
  • Experience in any of the following tools would also be welcomed: UFT, LoadRunner, Burpsuite, Axe, SauceLabs
