MWH Treatment is seeking a Regional Quality Manager to lead quality across the Thames Water framework. You will report to the Head of SHEQ and drive improvements across multiple sites via robust data analysis and audits.

The role requires an engineering background, IRCA/CQI auditor experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and Right First Time outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering/technology or related field.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality management systems (ISO9001).
  • Familiarity with quality legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • CQI membership encouraged (PCQI or higher).
  • Ability to travel to sites across the region and manage regional teams.

Job description

We are looking to strengthen our SHEQ team with a Regional Quality Manager for our Thames Water framework. You will report directly to the Head of SHEQ.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and control quality across all areas of the framework in compliance with MWHT's Management System requirements.
  • Lead regional quality performance to achieve agreed standards (KPIs) and provide incisive monthly management information to deliver effective performance.
  • Oversee the collection, input, validation and analysis of regional quality data.
  • Support the input of quality data and insights into regional SHEQ, project and board reports (where required).
  • Assist with client quality reporting requirements (where required).
  • Develop and deliver a continuous improvement programme for quality performance, aligning to business SHEQ strategy, facilitated through advice, action & recommendations for change.
  • Embed an understanding of quality, its benefits and requirements across the framework in respect to company and client expectations.
  • Lead regional quality investigations, root cause analysis and reporting opportunities for quality issues to implement effective resolution, learnings and preventative actions (with support from the Head of SHEQ and National Quality Manager).
  • Analyse current and future procedural needs of the business working with the central quality department.
  • Provide support on quality issues to all areas of the framework including construction delivery, proposals, commercial, procurement, business services and design.
  • Manage the resolution of findings and corrective actions to attain compliance, improve efficiency and support a ‘Right First Time’ culture.
  • Collaboratively work with relevant client representatives to oversee assurance, support initiatives and close out defects and non-conformances.
  • Providing training (or ensuring a suitable programme is developed and delivered) on quality topics, issues and business processes.
  • Consult with client, internal departmental leads and supply chain partners where required to develop and maintain quality.
  • Implement and manage a robust regional quality assurance audit schedule complying with MWHT and client requirements.
  • Be responsible for managing regional internal and external quality audits at all stages of the delivery process.
  • Lead the regional quality team to deliver their responsibilities.
  • Represent the region within MWHT's Quality Managers Forum, by actively participating, inputting and supporting collaborative discussions, to achieve MWHT's quality strategy and drive standardised improvement.
  • Be responsible for regional quality communications and engagement opportunities, including the development of regional quality alerts in liaison with the Regional Head of SHEQ & National Quality Manager.
  • Ensure your own continuous professional development by participating in external networking/conferences/associations/groups, to stay current on industry changes and innovations.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the central quality team.
  • Lead regional quality investigations as required.
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role.
  • In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment as well as maintaining mutually constructive, positive and beneficial relationships.
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure appropriate confidentiality and professionalism.

Essential:Degree qualified; preferably in an engineering, technology, technical or personnel development topic (Considerable relevant experience will also be acceptable).Lead ISO9001 Quality auditor (IRCA/CQI accredited)Experienced in Quality management.Conversant in quality legislationProficient knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications/industry standard software packages.CQI Membership at Practitioner (PCQI) or higher.Construction delivery backgroundAbility to travel to all sites in regionDesirable:Background in the water/wastewater industry.Familiarity with the 'Get It Right First Time Initiative' (GIRI).Kelvin Top Set Investigator CourseLine Management Experience.EUSR Water Hygiene Card.
