Job summary

McDermott is seeking a Principal QHSES Assurance Specialist to lead risk-based assurance programs, align with ISO standards and OMS principles, and mentor auditors globally. The role interfaces with Project Directors, Clients, and Regulators, ensuring governance of audit outcomes and continual improvement.

The candidate will drive planning, execution of assurance plans, and provide independent opinions on system effectiveness, with strong leadership and communication skills in a global EPC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas / Energy EPC projects, including construction and fabrication environments.
• Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 (ISO/TS 29001 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of IOGP OMS principles, risk-based assurance, and EPC delivery models.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a risk-based QHSES assurance strategy for corporate, regional, and project levels.
• Lead development, approval, and execution of annual and multi-year assurance plans.
• Provide independent assurance opinions to senior leadership on management system effectiveness and corrective actions.
• Develop and continuously improve QHSES procedures, guidance, tools, and templates.
• Liaise with stakeholders and support preparation for external certifications and audits.
• Act as primary company representative for external audits and governance of outcomes.
• Drive continual improvement by coordinating with department heads on targets and actions.
• Oversee global QHSES metrics, dashboards, and trend analyses across operating units.
• Represent QHSES Assurance in client engagements, bids, and governance meetings.
