Job summary

SGS is seeking a Lead QC Inspector for a fabrication yard supporting an offshore wind project. The assignment starts in early November 2026 and runs for 6 months, with renewal possible until 2030.

The role is resident, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, overseeing quality assurance activities across welding, structural work, and NDT. You will coordinate site inspectors, review the Project Quality Plan and ITPs, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and maintain QA surveillance as per the

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of on-site quality inspection experience.
• CSWIP 3.2 Welding Inspector or IWI-C (Comprehensive) or equivalent.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience managing a small team of inspectors at a fabrication yard.
• Experience with EPCI contracts is an asset.
• Offshore wind / shipyard/fabrication yard background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all site QC inspectors (Welding, Mechanical, Painting, Electrical; Corrosion, Instrumentation, etc).
• Review and implement the Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated procedures.
• Define and implement inspection and surveillance strategy to meet contract requirements.
• Ensure QA system adherence per Quality Assurance Plan and project documentation.
