Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking a Senior QA Tester to help modernise digital telephony services for the UK Government. You will lead a team of testers and define the test strategy across projects.

You will manage risk-based testing, plan system and acceptance tests, and oversee functional and non-functional testing to ensure successful releases. The role requires hands-on testing, both manual and automated, and clear reporting to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of testers.
• Ability to set test strategy and approach.
• Experience with risk-based testing.
• Plan system/acceptance tests coordinating functional and non-functional specs.
• Oversee levels of functional system testing.
• Define test requirements, specs, and conditions; report risks.
• Implement shift-left processes to reduce defects.
• Produce and execute manual and automated test scripts.
• Provide fault analysis and liaise with dev teams.
• Provide estimates for new work for wider test team.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of Testers, and oversight of tested products.
• Drive the overall Test Process within your project, and set the test strategy.
• Oversee functional system testing to enable successful releases.
• Define test requirements and conditions; report issues and risks to stakeholders.
• Implement shift-left practices to catch defects early.
• Create and run manual and automated test scripts with expected results.
• Provide fault analysis and liaise with development teams.
