Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an experienced test engineer to verify and validate a traffic generator solution used in global networking equipment testing. You will execute manual, exploratory and automated tests on Ethernet networks, apply OSI L1-L2 concepts, and collaborate with hardware and software teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of networking domain experience with debugging and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on knowledge of Ethernet, SDH, DWDM, and related telecom tech.
• Experience with multi-vendor testing, alarm handling, and fault isolation.
• Familiarity with QoS/KPI metrics and network management systems.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual, exploratory and automated test cases for Ethernet network equipment at L1/L2.
• Design and execute physical layer test cases covering MAC/PCS/FEC state and BER counters.
• Validate alarm handling, fault isolation, and event monitoring in real world scenarios.
• Perform acceptance and commissioning-style testing for L0/L1 features.
• Analyze QoS and performance metrics at transport/packet level and report findings.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to triage failures and improve quality.
• Support traffic generator setup (Spirent, Ixia) for tests and regression coverage.
