Job summary

Luxoft is seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, implement, and verify automated system tests for Ethernet network equipment in a global networking test environment. You will drive API/CLI testing, develop PyTest‑based frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, analyze failures, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve performance and reliability.

Experience with Linux platforms, networking stacks, and AI‑assisted testing is valued.

Qualifications

• 6+ years overall QA background in networking applications.
• 4+ years testing networking domain‑related applications.
• QA Automation in an Agile/SCRUM team focused on API and/or CLI testing; Python preferred.
• Automated testing for API or CLI and experience with test harness/framework development.
• Practical experience with telecom networking equipment like routers, switches, and traffic generators.
• Experience with OSI/TCP/IP network stack layers L1–L2.
• Experience with AI tooling to improve productivity (code generation/review, automation).
• Experience in performance, scale, and convergence testing at system level.
• Ability to develop and publish solution validation documents and test reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication across QA and development teams.
• Highly motivated, self‑driven, cross‑functional collaborator.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify complex automated system test cases for Ethernet network equipment.
• Derive automation requirements from manual functional test specifications and hardware validation reports.
• Collaborate with the development team to translate software requirements into high‑quality test automation suites.
• Develop automation for end‑to‑end solution validation and integrate the automation for seamless validation.
• Define and review long‑term performance and scalability test scenarios.
• Implement, execute, and debug PyTest/Python automated test scripts on a Linux‑based platform.
• Analyze and manage automated regression test execution failures.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues, working closely with the engineering team to address failures and validate fixes.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with hardware and software development teams to triage test failures and drive quality improvement.
• Reproduce and root‑cause hardware/firmware defects through systematic test isolation.
• Use AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, agentic AI) for customer‑specific heavy usage patterns.
• Review customer deployments and customer‑found issues, addressing gaps in test coverage.

Must have

• Overall QA background of 6+ years, with 4+ years in testing networking domain‑related applications.
• QA Automation experience in an Agile/SCRUM team, focused on API and/or CLI testing (4+ years); Python strongly preferred (other comparable languages considered).
• Automated testing for API or CLI for 4+ years, including experience in test harness or framework development.
• Practical experience with telecom network equipment like routers, switches, and traffic generators.
• Experience with and understanding of the OSI/TCP/IP Network Stack layers L1 – Physical and L2 – Data Link.
• Practical experience with AI tooling in day‑to‑day activities to improve productivity and delivery quality (code generation, code review, automation, agentic AI, MCP usage, etc.).
• Experience in performance, scale, and convergence testing; ability to analyze and improve performance and convergence at the system level.
• Ability to develop and publish solution validation documents and test reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across QA and development teams.
• Highly motivated, self‑driven, and able to collaborate cross‑functionally to meet challenging goals.

Nice to have

• Linux OS variants (Ubuntu, Debian) – knowledge.
• CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab, or similar) and issue‑tracking tools (JIRA, Confluence).
