Job summary

Low Carbon Contracts Company is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own quality within a Scrum team and drive testing excellence in a fast‑paced agile environment. You will deliver high‑quality test coverage, mentor peers, and collaborate closely with development teams to raise the bar on software quality.

The role is hybrid with 2 days in the office, based in London or Birmingham, 37.5 hours per week, and a salary around £55,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Proven commercial experience in software testing and QA.
• Hands-on test planning, design and execution.
• Strong knowledge of test automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, JUnit or TestNG.
• Scripting in Python, Java or JavaScript for automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to coach and mentor QA engineers.
• Excellent debugging and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategies, plans and cases; document results.
• Design, develop and maintain automated tests.
• Identify, report and track defects with teams.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform performance/load testing for scalability.
• Participate in non-functional testing (security, accessibility).
• Create and maintain test docs and reports.
• Manage test environments and data.
• Mentor other QA engineers.
