Senior QA Engineer

Location: Chelmsford (3 days onsite per week)

Salary: £53k per annum

An award-winning law firm is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their team. You will be a key member of their Product Delivery Team, leading QA strategy and execution across legal software platforms. Your responsibilities will include planning, executing, and automating testing activities to ensure their applications are reliable, secure, and user-focused. You will work collaboratively with development, analysis, and project management teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain test plans and strategies for complex legal systems
• Execute manual and automated tests (regression, performance, security)
• Lead defect tracking, resolution, and process improvement
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks
• Generate comprehensive test documentation and stakeholder reports
• Drive UAT activities and support end users
• Mentor junior testers and promote QA best practices
• Stay updated with testing trends and suggest continuous improvements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years in software testing, with 2+ years in a senior QA role
• Proficiency in Selenium, JIRA and test automation scripting
• Strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies
• Experience generating detailed user test scripts and leading training sessions
• Exposure to legal tech or regulated environments
• ISTQB or similar certification (preferred)
