Job summary

Cranswick PLC is seeking a Senior QA to lead the Technical Team at our Valley Park Manufacturing site. You will oversee QA functions, ensure daily Food Safety and Quality monitoring, and drive HACCP compliance across the manufacturing process.

The role focuses on audits, traceability, KPI reporting and site hygiene, with a strong emphasis on developing and motivating the QA team to uphold high standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership to develop and motivate a QA team.
• Qualifications in Auditing, HACCP and Food Safety.
• Experience delivering food safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with HACCP, traceability and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA functions within the site, ensuring Food Safety and Quality monitoring daily.
• Maintain HACCP CCP controls, auditing the manufacturing process and documentation.
• Support internal audits, ensuring compliance with legislative and customer specs.
• Monitor technical KPI’s and drive improvements and procedures.
• Oversee site hygiene standards in line with regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Ensure QA paperwork is accurate and up-to-date reflecting manufacturing processes.
• Develop and train QA staff, promoting quality assurance across the business.
• Assist in site visits and audits by Customers, EHO’s and Trading Standards.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior QA to support our Technical Team.

As Senior QA, you will play a leading role in ensuring all QA functions within the Valley Park Manufacturing site are carried out and adhered to. Ensuring the monitoring of Food Safety and Quality are carried out on a day-to-day basis.

You will be working on:

• Quality Assurance: Responsible for ensuring all Quality Assurance Systems are fulfilling the company’s legislative and regulatory responsibilities. Working in a highly safety and quality focused environment you will ensure that all appropriate control mechanisms are being continually adhered to ie HACCP, Traceability and Audit.
• Audits: Responsible for ensuring that the QA Internal audits are carried out to the specified frequencies and regularly identifying any changes, informing the relevant personnel of these. Ensuring that the products produced and the environment within which manufacturing takes place is in line with legislative requirements and adhering to customer specifications. Routinely checking all aspects of the product process & documentation to ensure products are following the appropriate path whilst information / data is recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
• HACCP: Ensuring all CCP’s throughout the manufacturing site are routinely controlled, monitored, audited and challenged.
• KPI’s: Assist in monitoring and reporting technical KPI’s within your area of responsibility identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate strategies and procedures to harness sustainable improvement.
• Site Hygiene: In conjunction with the Technical and Hygiene Manager ensure high standards of hygiene are achieved across the site in compliance with regulations and Codes of Practice.
• Technical Documentation: Ensure Quality Assurance Paperwork, are accurate, routinely reviewed and updated reflecting the agreed manufacturing process and are routinely completed on time with due diligence.
• People: Effectively harness, motivate, develop and train the QA team, through meaningful training plans. Spread the message of quality assurance and environmental hygiene throughout the business.
• Site Visits and Audits: Assisting the Senior Technical team in the effective preparation of site visits and audits by Customers / EHO’s and Trading Standards.
