Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Darlington is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Python) to design, build, and operate reliable, scalable platform services underpinning critical government digital products. You’ll collaborate with product and architecture teams to improve reliability and reduce operational burden.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and operating reliable platform services.
• Strong Python and Django knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms, AWS preferred.
• Experience implementing and operating SRE practices including SLIs/SLOs.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform services used by development teams.
• Write clean, tested code for platform tooling and services.
• Improve observability with monitoring, logging, metrics, dashboards, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code.
• Support live services, incident response and post-incident reviews.
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to engineering community.
