Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Cardiff is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (DevOps) with strong Python experience to design, build and run reliable, scalable platform services that underpin critical government digital products.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, champion observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices, and provide on-call support while mentoring peers to improve resilience and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python and Django in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Familiarity with observability, metrics, logging, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain shared service products enabling developers to be more efficient.
• Write clean, well-tested code to support platform tooling development.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve platform observability and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and improve cloud infrastructure using code (IaC).
• Support live service operations with incident response and continuous improvement.
