Job summary

Validus Risk Management Limited seeks a Python Software Engineer to join the Client Success Team as a Senior Developer. You will own end-to-end enhancements for the Validus Horizon platform, translating financial and operational requirements into scalable solutions and mentoring CST initiatives.

You will design full-stack components, build ETL processes, and collaborate with business leads, tech teams, and clients to quantify business value and deliver high-quality software on schedule.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Math, Physics, Financial Engineering, CS, etc.).
• Strong experience in Python or similar backend language for data processing and financial applications.
• Full stack development experience (backend services, APIs, databases, frontend frameworks).
• Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and integrations (APIs, SFTP, structured market/portfolio datasets).
• Proven ability to lead small-to-medium scale projects with ownership.
• Strong interest in financial markets, incl. FX and interest rate products.
• Ability to communicate complex technical/financial concepts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact features for Validus Horizon, from design to deployment.
• Own multiple CST initiatives with clear stakeholder communication.
• Design and implement full-stack solutions aligned with Horizon architecture.
• Build and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines for availability and client workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements and quantify business value.
• Mentor CST engineers and promote code quality, testing, and delivery.
• Present technical solutions and roadmaps in stakeholder meetings.
