Job summary

Arrive, a global mobility platform, is seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join the Data Science Products team in London. You will build robust backend systems and data ingestion services that handle billions of sensor data points daily to power parking availability and route optimization.

You will own data ingestion services, collaborate with engineers and data scientists, and ensure fast, reliable, and scalable systems using FastAPI, AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, and Kafka. Hybrid work in London.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in Python backend development, including building and maintaining highly available backend services (FastAPI preferred) at scale.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain data-intensive applications and infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of AWS services and hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with Kafka and working alongside data scientists in the PyData ecosystem is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-performance APIs with a focus on speed and reliability using FastAPI.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native services using AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Leverage Kafka to deliver near real-time data to ML models and other teams.
• Apply AI throughout the software development lifecycle while ensuring reliability and maintainability.
• Implement robust testing frameworks and system designs to maintain high code quality and service reliability.
• Enhance observability and performance monitoring of production services.
