Job summary

Brio Digital is seeking an experienced Python Developer with a strong DevOps mindset for a large-scale public sector transformation programme in Leeds. This hands-on role focuses on building, deploying and supporting cloud-native services across the full software delivery lifecycle.

You will collaborate with architects, platform engineers and delivery teams to design secure, scalable applications, automate infrastructure with Terraform and drive CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Jenkins and other

Qualifications

• > Strong commercial experience developing applications with Python.
• <> Excellent AWS experience, including services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB and CloudWatch.
• <> Strong hands-on experience with Terraform.
• <> Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar.
• <> Experience working with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• <> Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure automation and DevOps best practices.
• <> Experience building and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• <> Comfortable working across both application development and cloud infrastructure.
• <> Experience using Git and working within Agile delivery teams.
• <> Previous NHS or Central Government experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud‑native applications using Python.
• Build and deploy scalable solutions within AWS.
• Design, build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to enable automated testing and deployment.
• Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to production support.
• Collaborate with DevOps, architecture and product teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimise application performance and reliability.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
