Job summary

Cognizant in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced software engineer skilled in Python and cloud-native architectures to design, build, test and operate scalable applications and APIs.

You will manage AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, collaborating with product, architecture and delivery teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions throughout design, development, deployment and operations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building Python applications and APIs.
• Cloud-native AWS experience including serverless and container services.
• Terraform for infrastructure as code and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python applications, APIs and backend services.
• Build and operate cloud-native solutions using AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch).
• Develop infrastructure and deployments using Terraform.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Monitor application and platform health, troubleshoot incidents and drive continuous improvement.
• Design and manage APIs throughout their lifecycle, including documentation, security, governance and analytics.
