Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Humboldt and shape Asset Backed Trading as it expands across EU markets. You will work in a Python monorepo of serverless services, building backend, event-driven pipelines, and collaborating with data scientists and traders to deliver reliable, well-tested systems.

You will contribute to interfaces with Flex services and APIs, improving reliability, latency, and observability while growing Asset Backed Trading across markets and asset types.

Qualifications

• Strong Python experience and backend production work.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, etc.).
• API design and domain modelling for complex workflows.
• Typed, well-tested Python code with pytest.
• Ability to collaborate with data scientists and traders.
• Experience with observability and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate Python backend services for Asset Backed Trading.
• Own event-driven flows from trigger to dispatch (queues, lambdas, API integrations).
• Productionise algorithms with data scientists.
• Contribute to infrastructure as code and deployment pipelines.
• Participate in architectural decisions as the product grows.
• Maintain high standards for typed, tested code.
