Job summary

Kraken’s Humboldt team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to grow Asset Backed Trading across EU markets. You will build Python backend services in a serverless monorepo, ingest market data, develop optimisation problems, call solvers, and dispatch trades.

You’ll partner with traders and data scientists to shape interfaces, improve reliability, and broaden deployment through IaC and AWS pipelines. A strong emphasis on typed, tested code and clear interfaces guides every decision.

Qualifications

• Proven Python production experience.
• Backend services in production environment.
• Cloud platforms experience, preferably AWS.
• API design and domain modelling for complex workflows.
• Typed, well-tested code and strong testing culture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate the Python backend services behind Asset Backed Trading.
• Own event driven flows from trigger to dispatch: queues, lambdas, events, and API integrations.
• Productionise new algorithms and market capabilities with data scientists.
• Support architectural decisions as we scale across EU markets and assets.
• Improve reliability, latency, and operability via tests, monitoring and refactors.
• Contribute to infrastructure as code (CDK/CloudFormation) and deployment pipelines.
