Job summary

Client Server in London is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop and optimise high-performance trading systems and cloud infrastructure. The role combines sophisticated backend Python development with cloud and DevOps practices, and involves occasional front-end work.

You will own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, collaborating with front, middle and back office teams to translate complex requirements into scalable technologies in a hybrid London office

Qualifications

• Advanced Python backend development skills.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, DevOps practices, CI/CD and containerisation.
• Comfortable with occasional front-end work.
• Experience owning the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience working in front office trading environments.
• Pragmatic with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance high-performance trading systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Support critical front, middle and back office operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to translate complex requirements into scalable, resilient technology.
• Lead projects from design through to deployment.
• Build secure, highly available systems capable of handling large volumes of market and trading data.
• Champion engineering best practices, automation, DevOps and cloud architecture.
• Help continuously improve the teams technical capabilities.
