Job summary

Fundment Limited in London is seeking an experienced Python Software Engineer to join our product engineering team. You will help build and evolve the backend systems powering our wealth platform, designing secure, scalable APIs and internal tools using Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, and related technologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, own complex problems, and deliver production-ready code with strong emphasis on maintainability, observability, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional Python experience
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and async patterns
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases at scale
• Passion for pragmatic clean code and scalable architectures
• Excellent communication and ownership in fast-paced SaaS/fintech teams

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, backend services, and internal systems
• Develop data-driven workflows and integrations with third-party systems
• Shape technical direction and plan for scalability, performance, and reliability
• Write clean, maintainable, observable, and secure code
• Investigate complex distributed-system issues and drive long-term solutions
• Collaborate with Product and Operations to translate business needs into robust solutions
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Mentor peers and contribute to a high-trust engineering culture
