Job summary

Aristocrat Leisure in London is seeking a Senior Python Engineer – Automation to automate repetitive processes and advance our Reporting Center of Excellence standards. You will own end-to-end automation projects, review code, and mentor junior engineers while expanding our automation capabilities across business units.

You will work hybrid in London, collaborating with data and software teams to deliver scalable solutions using Python, AI tools, and modern automation frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar.
• 3+ years of experience in Python Development (or MS in above subjects + 0-2 years experience).
• Advanced abilities in Python, Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Preferred experience: R, SQL, Java, C++, C#, HTML, Selenium, Power Automate and CoPilot, Studio for Agent Building, Snowflake or other Data Warehouses, PowerBI or any other dashboarding tool.

Responsibilities

• Develop the complete lifecycle of automation solutions from intake through development, debugging, testing, deployment into production, and documentation.
• Review all developed automated solutions with team leader to ensure objectives and guidelines are met.
• Build sustainability documentation for each automated process; review other team members' documentation; and contribute to team training.
• Run and maintain over 500 existing automation processes for consistency and accuracy.
• Lead and coordinate recurring meetings with business collaborators to identify automation opportunities and governance.
• Research and develop code to improve existing automations for performance and sustainability.
• Direct the creation of Python-based and AI tools for automating tasks like data reconciliation and reporting.
• Review automation code and provide feedback to ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Mentor junior engineers in Python, automation frameworks, and problem-solving techniques.
• Find opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to optimize automations.
• Research and incorporate new Python libraries and AI tools to improve automation capabilities.
