Job summary

JPMorganChase in Glasgow is seeking a Software Engineer III to build production software with a focus on AI-enabled capabilities. You will develop Python backends, APIs, and microservices, and implement LLM-driven workflows in a multi-cloud environment using Terraform and Kubernetes.

You will work through the full software lifecycle and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, while ensuring secure data handling and robust observability. This is a hands-on role in enterprise-scale AI engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience building backend services.
• Strong database and SQL proficiency.
• Experience delivering APIs and microservices (REST/gRPC).
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, containers and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Terraform and multi-cloud concepts.
• Experience delivering LLM-based features in software systems.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver software through the full SDLC from requirements to production support.
• Write maintainable Python code with tests and debugging across layers.
• Implement LLM-driven workflows and multi-step agentic task execution.
• Build/integrate model gateways, APIs, caching, timeouts, and concurrency controls.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation components when applicable.
• Build REST and gRPC endpoints with authentication, input validation, and error handling.
