CO Manufacturing, Wakefield, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead supplier performance, cost, and delivery improvements for a well-stocked operation. You will collaborate with department heads to optimise procurement and ensure accurate pricing and records.

The role requires managing staff, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing efficient processes to cut waste and costs while maintaining quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience in managing staff and leading teams.
• Track record of establishing a supplier base and stock control.
• Ability to negotiate prices with suppliers and secure best terms.
• Identify and implement new ways of working to improve efficiency and cost.
• Strong financial and commercial sense for procurement decisions.
• Good command of Microsoft Office and purchasing software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive supplier performance, cost, and delivery improvements.
• Manage heads of departments to ensure a well-stocked operation.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing procedures and pricing accuracy.
• Oversee Yard and stores, and set up new supplier products with codes and costs.
• Investigate price discrepancies and delays in stock deliveries.
• Negotiate with suppliers and support senior managers on pricing.
• Build relationships with suppliers and maintain records in the in-house system.
• Train and support the team to meet department KPIs.
