Job summary

NHS Forth Valley invites applications for a Public Protection Advisor (Adults) to join the Public Protection Team. You will guide health staff on adult protection legislation, develop local procedures, and coordinate multi‑agency protection forums across NHS Forth Valley.

The role requires significant post‑registration experience, professional registration and the ability to travel within the service area.

Qualifications

• Significant post registration experience in a relevant area of care.
• Hold or be working towards a post graduate diploma in Adult Protection or have evidence of equivalent relevant experience/study in a specialist area that relates to adult protection.
• First level degree or equivalent and evidence of ability to study at post-graduate level.
• Ability to critically appraise research and analyse complex information.
• Have a working knowledge of audit and self-evaluation.
• High level of Computer skills.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance.
• Excellent presentation, training facilitation and meeting management skills.
• A knowledge of or qualification in supervision skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality adult protection response and coordination service across NHS Forth Valley.
• Provide guidance and support to health staff on adult protection legislation, processes and national policy.
• Help develop local procedures that inform and support practice.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships across multi‑agency Adult Protection forums.
