London Borough of Newham is seeking an experienced Principal Analyst to lead the Public Health Intelligence function. The role focuses on cutting-edge data science to generate actionable insights for population health and health equity in a fast-paced London environment.

You will lead a team of analysts to assess need, analyse complex datasets, and provide intelligence to guide strategic decisions for Newham and the Integrated Care System.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in health/public health/epidemiology/statistics or a numerate discipline.
• Commitment to continuous learning and skills development in data science.
• Excellent knowledge of health data sets, their strengths/weaknesses, and appropriate methods.
• Leadership of teams and management of analysts in line with policies.
• Experience delivering insight that reduces inequity and informs decision-making.
• Experience collaborating across local health and care systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Public Health Intelligence service to produce actionable insight for population health and equity.
• Ensure intelligence shapes strategy, commissioning, and service transformation across Newham and NES.
• Undertake health data analyses to inform decisions and priorities for action.
• Provide expert statistical and epidemiological advice to the organisation and partners.
• Guide on data science techniques for sophisticated epidemiological analyses.
• Develop training and improve access to analytical tools for the workforce.
