Job summary

Hoare Lea in the UK is seeking a Senior Public Health Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team across Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds. You will deliver public health design solutions on projects of varying scale, ensuring a high-quality service to clients while supporting repeat business and profitable project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in public health engineering delivering complex projects.
• Strong understanding of drainage systems including rainwater and domestic water services.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Collaborative approach and ability to liaise with clients and teams.
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed, coordinated and cost-effective public health design advice to a varied client base.
• Prepare specifications, calculations and technical reports tailored to project needs.
• Design above- and below-ground drainage systems, rainwater and roof drainage, hot and cold-water services, and fire suppression systems to programme, budget and quality standards.
• Produce clear calculations, reports and specifications with strong written communication skills.
• Attend design team meetings, client meetings and site inspections.
• Work with minimal supervision and take ownership of your own projects where required.
• Manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to tight deadlines.

About the role

As a Senior Public Health Engineer, you will support and deliver public health design solutions across projects of varying scale and complexity. About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven experience as a Public Health Engineer, or in a closely related role, delivering a range of complex projects.
• A strong understanding of drainage systems, including rainwater and domestic water services.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• A collaborative approach, self-awareness, an open mind and a generous spirit.
• Good working knowledge of relevant British Standards.
• Consultancy experience.
