Job summary

Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Senior Psychologist to join the Mental Health Team at HMP Woodhill. The post offers a Band 7 preceptorship consideration and a chance to deliver a comprehensive specialist clinical psychology service to service users within a prison setting.

You will lead psychological assessments, provide therapy, supervision and contribute to research and service development within the Health & Justice Services Directorate.

Qualifications

• To provide specialist psychological assessments and therapy within the prison health care setting.
• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the service framework.
• To provide clinical supervision and contribute to service development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessments of clients in custody using complex data from tests and interviews.
• Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and management of mental health problems.
• Offer specialist psychological advice and consultation to other professionals to inform client care.
• Carry out risk assessment, formulation and management for clients with complex presentations.
• Promote multi-disciplinary teamwork and involvement of users and carers in care planning.
