Covering maternity leave on a 1-year fixed-term contract, you will work at The Farndon Unit, which provides low secure care for women with severe and enduring mental illness, personality disorders, or mild learning disabilities. The facility offers low secure, acute, and rehab services with a strong emphasis on teamwork and Continuing Professional Development (CPD), providing ongoing training opportunities to advance your career.

Reporting to the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will assist in delivering strategic and clinical strategies to develop the care pathway through specialist psychological advice and consultations.

You will have experience managing a caseload, assessing service users with complex needs, and designing/delivering specialist psychological treatments within neurological care services.

As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing strategic and clinical initiatives to enhance the care pathway.
  • Developing new services for various conditions.
  • Ensuring all therapeutic approaches are evidence-based, conceptually grounded, and their effectiveness measured.
  • Supporting the multidisciplinary team with understanding and applying psychological concepts and principles.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • BPS-accredited and HCPC-approved Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
  • HCPC Registered.
  • Chartered Member of the BPS.
  • Post-doctoral knowledge in research methodology, design, and multivariate data analysis.
