Full Job Description

Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist

Location: Birmingham

Age Group: Young people aged 11-17 and their families

Pay: £23 - £35.36 PAYE per hour (dependent on experience)

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Psychologist to join our client's NHS team. The ideal candidate will promote a recovery service and provide excellent evidence-based psychological input to multidisciplinary mental health services for young people aged 11-17 and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for young people and their families/carers.
2. Contribute to ward rounds, formulation, care planning, CPAs, and MDT assessments.
3. Offer supervision, consultation, training, psychological debriefs, and staff support to colleagues within an inpatient setting.
4. Provide services to our General Adolescent Unit and Specialist Eating Disorders Units.
5. Work collaboratively with a full team including psychologists, family therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, and medics.
6. Operate in a clinically demanding and fascinating environment.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Experience working clinically in CAMHS.
2. Skills and interest in working with complexity and co-morbidity including neurodiversity, suicidality, trauma, psychosis, and eating disorders.
3. Work autonomously and as an integral part of integrated biopsychosocial multidisciplinary teams within professional guidelines and the overall framework of policies and procedures.
4. Creative, innovative, high-performing individual able to make safe and confident decisions around patient care.
5. Strong partnership skills with patients, their families, colleagues in the multidisciplinary team, and community agencies.
